There's one or two STA grads going to Indiana as far as I know.
Some parents didn't come from a private school background and/or attended a large, public school themselves and hoped for a different outcome for their son. They may or may not have expected that as a STA graduate their son would attend a more prestigious college than they, perhaps in hindsight they're feeling right now that he could have had this college admission outcome after attending a public school.
Man, you people know nothing. One of the guys going to Indiana is attempting to walk on to the football team (and is thrilled for the chance). Why would you opine about things you know nothing about?
Must be another parent disappointed that their STA kid is going to Indiana.
Sounds like an STA parent who respects these kids as individuals and doesn't see them as window decals. (And I'm not an STA parent, BTW.)

Anonymous wrote:So if it's an STA grad that has to "settle" for Indiana, there's an explanation and excuse about how it's actually a great opportunity blah blah blah. If it's a Sidwell student then that is an indicator of Sidwell's demise.
+1. Love it. All hail to Mick!Anonymous wrote:Soon to be a so called Big 3 grad, DC has decided on a field that is not offered at HYP although DC could definitely compete for admission to any Ivy.
DC is quite okay with the available college choices for her interest. USC, UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, and several others will meet DC's criteria. And we are alright with that. Safety school? U. of Illinois. And we are alright with that too.
Those who are so Ivy driven should get out more and explore some of the other excellent non-Ivy universities. They just might be pleasantly surprised of the offerings.
You can't always get what you want but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need. Truer words were never spoken even if they did come from Mick J.

Whoever you are, if you're a public school parent, like I am, can I just say that you're embarrassing the rest of us. Indiana is a fine choice and may have been the best fit for that kid(s).
