Yes, that is a really dumb argument and...
+1 million. I think people need to look inside themselves and think about why they want people to suffer the same thing they found difficult.
Democrat thesaurus: Hard work/personal responsibility/smart choices/sacrifice = suffering
Republican Thesaurus: individual borrowing forgiveness = bailout, freeloading; tax cuts for billionaires and handouts to corporations = “incentivizing competitiveness”
Such a crock of bullshit.

I agree. The loans for education should be 0 or very low interest.
So the math is tricky, but they did actually address this. Under the new plan as long as you're enrolled in IBR and making payments (even if the payment is 0), interest won't accrue. This is the real game changer.
No it is not. It’s like giving everyone $10,000 to buy a car. A week later …oh look all cars cost $10,000 more. This will just raise the cost of college.

There isn't forgiveness going forward so it won't have this impact--only loans issued before June 30. We still need more work to address college affordability, but this action doesn't worsen it.

Yup. How do you possibly vote in the next election with two awful choices.

+1. As a left leaning Independent, these AOC-sh*t is enough to vote moderate R. So f'king tired of it.
This. Graduates have not had to make payments in over two years. I think the payment stop has fueled some of the insane travel crowds over
the last two years.
