Everyone here should work as a pre school teacher for a week, it's eye opening what many parents pack for lunch and how little some kids eat.
I wouldn’t be ok with it. And so I wouldn’t pack it. Amazing how easy that problem is to solve.
You would think that, right? But parents pack the sweets and then are upset when their kid eats only the sugar, and their argument is that the teacher should give them more time to eat, but the kids talk half the time then eat their cookies.
Yes, kids talk. Wow!
It’s preschool. They’re not missing out on major instructional time if they get 15 minutes more to eat.
The kids have enough time to eat. They don't eat, because they are distracted. Giving them more time isn't the solution.
There are so many posters who would have benefited from a coop preschool so they could see how kids are. Instead of opining from their computers at home.

If that’s what the parent packs. If you want to start making lunch for them, go do it.
You don't have to deal with the aftermath of hungry and irritable kids. You just don't get it.
DCUMers really live in a bubble and are naive as to what the "real" world is like and the pure junk that most parents pack.
Actually…this whole long thread is about a parent who didn’t want her kid left hungry and upset. We do get it.
OP isn't a parent "who didn't want her kid left hungry and upset." What OP wants is for her DC to do whatever she wants, not what the teachers asks.
Good luck with that.
