I thought it was the brothel/house of the "white worm" or whoever that lady was who had kept Aegon hostage for that short period of time. So confusing.
I found this whole episode to be confusing. I didn't remember the Erryck twins - why would they tell Aegon his grandfather would meet him outside the city wall? To lure him to his grandfather?
Literally no idea why that building was burning at the end.
Could use a TINY bit more exposition with Helena? Is she straight up nuts or what?
No Rhaenyra in this episode - total disappointment.
I think they should have had Rhaenys burn Aegon, et al and let Aemond survive and he can battle it out. In the after the episode segment they had the showrunners say that Rhaenys didn't want to kill another mother's son and that's why she didn't burn Aegon. But there's not way Alicent wouldn't have died too, so twofer. Don't care what was in the books.
I'm a little surprised Alicent is such a neophyte at this stage. Say what you will about Cersei Lannister but she surrounded herself with people that would go to bat for her. No one would have planned a usurpation under her nose.

She left when it was dark out and reappeared when it was daylight. You'd think she traveled really far but then the Queen and her posse appear like it wasn't far at all.
This show is so corny, so predictable, and a total ripoff of GoT. It is the same show - fighting for the throne.

Or was this some effort towards fulfillment of Larys' promise to Allicent in the gross foot scene--getting rid of spies like Allicent's lady-in-waiting? Wasn't she locked up at some point towards the beginning of the episode?
I think it’s this. They were burning all the servants since they don’t know who the mole was, per Larys. And yes Alicent clearly knew about the foot fettish and had participated before. Obviously she’s disgusted, but thinks she needs Larys.

Yeah, kinda weird it didn’t happen. Perhaps the dragon’s ability to spew fire is affected if it’s been chained in the basement for a prolonged period.
Also she still believes that Rhaenyra secretly had her son killed so she could marry Daemon. Perhaps that player into her decision.
She's not a monster or kinslayer. I also think she held back out of respect/love for Viserys as those are his children. Maybe also to show them, Allicent specifically, that violence is a choice.
I do think she could have burnt those f*ckers Otto and Ser. Criston to a crisp and few would have minded.
I just don't get the point of what she did then. Why bust up the whole place, likely killing a whole bunch of people in the process, just to turn and fly away?
I know it was some sort of signal that there would be dissent, but seems unnecessarily destructive. She should have killed at least somebody to make it worth it....
My read was that she originally intended to but at the last minute couldn't go through with it.

Help me process this!
