They aren't considering increasing the time to lift the mandate.

They want to require 7 days of "substantial" transmission to reinstate the mandate. That means if we dip back into moderate within 7 days, the mandate is still dropped. Let's hope they do this

It’s “gone” when there are no more cases being reported Duh.

Until then, yes, keep masks in place. This is a very binary argument. I don’t see an opportunity for obtuseness.

This at least makes a little more sense. Masks back on IF SEVEN DAYS OF INCREASED cases. But the other way around. At least that’s reasonable. Although I think they should base on 14 days or even monthly. * Unless people are dropping dead like flies. Obviously…

BREAKING Press Release: Council Meets as the Board of Health on Nov. 2 to Introduce, Hold a Public Hearing and Vote on Amended Board of Health Regulation on Indoor Masking Requirements; Public Hearing Scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The amended Board of Health regulation, sponsored by the Montgomery County Council, would require seven consecutive days of substantial COVID-19 transmission in the community for an indoor face covering requirement to be reinstated in areas open to the public. The requirement to wear face coverings in indoor spaces that are open to the public also terminates when the County returns to a status of moderate COVID-19 transmission for seven consecutive days.

They should just require it for county facilities (to maximize protection for their employees and the public using those facilities) and make it recommended everywhere else. Not everything has to be a rule. It's fair for them to make rules for their own buildings (and not difficult to move back and forth). Businesses should get to choose elsewhere.
