Two of these 3 photos are outdoors. It’s much weirder to be photographed with coats draped around your shoulders over and over and over at indoor photo ops.
Also they aren't regular people - they are influencers having staged photos. I've never seen this on a regular person in real life. I guess maybe I'm just not hanging out in enough influencer circles. Poor me!

Wading into this for the first time. I don't think it's weird to drape a jacket on your shoulders when standing around in a room or walking from place to place. I think it's super weird to pose for a staged picture that way. I also assume that, unlike me, Melania has staff and time to change between events...so it's a little weird that she can't just dress for the likely temperature at each occasion she will be at.
Maybe she just likes the look? I think it's a great look, personally.
It's a deliberate fashion choice. Whether it's because she runs cold or not, that's what it is. When I googled I found a lot of stuff from actually 2-6 years ago basically saying it's a look that projects power and confidence, like a board chair marching into the room not bothering to wear the sleeves because she has no time or interest in mingling with the lesser folks.

Hahah, I thought the opposite. A staged picture is fine, but who moves around with a jacket just sitting in your shoulders but not securely?

I do it indoors more than outdoors. I don't want to be restricted in coat or jacket sleeves when eating, working, etc.
