That’s ridiculous bc everybody knows what she said and it’s not like it didn’t happen.

This was my thought as well. We'll see how this all plays out, the police officer reportedly told JM that “It’s imperative for your safety" with regard to going to the station. A reasonable person could conclude that she thought she had no choice in the matter.

But then what happens then?

They discard her statements on that day?

Frow WTOP:
Attorneys representing Peres Magalhaes at the hearing Thursday said she was unlawfully seized, and evidence in the case — including her cellphone, Apple watch, clothing, photos and a hand swab taken that day — should be thrown out. They also argued that anything she told police should be excluded from trial.

I read cases before that some men created fake accounts in names of women they wanted to humiliate. The men pretended to be the women and falsely claimed that the women wanted to play rough rape games and invited other men to come to the women’s homes. So when the men who were misled showed up in the women’s homes to play the “rape game”, they thought the women’s screaming, fighting and attempts to call police were just part of the game, as they were told in conversations prior to the game day.

So it’s possible that CB or JM had assumed CB’s identity and told JR that she’d react scared when he encountered her in her house to turn off his suspicion. And if somehow CB ended up calling police on JR before BB and JM showed up, it’d just be a mischief done by someone and BB and JM would not be in trouble. Police won’t devote too much resources to such a case as a murder case.

Here is my guess. If CB didn’t get to call police before BB and JM showed up, they’d just kill JR and CB as planned. There’s no way JM isn’t part of it. BB was clearly waiting for her call in the McDonald’s parking lot. I think BB asked JM to shoot JR a second time, which was not necessary to incapacitate JR, and even if it was, BB could just shoot JR a second round, because he wanted both of them to have blood on their hands so that JM couldn’t just change her mind and incriminate him easily.

I have a hard time understanding why BB would involve JM and his daughter in all the events at the house that morning. It seems to add an unnecessary layer of complication and risk. Why not just let them go to the zoo and have BB return home because he forgot his lunch, or work laptop? Maybe JM was part of the planning and that is why it took so long to get her to roll over on BB.

Everyone is confused about one thing. There is no evidence or news from any source that JM has rolled over. It's a fact that her trial is still on for the exact date planned, and that is proven by her lawyer making a motion to exclude evidence taken in by police when she volunteered to give an account right after the police showed up. The prosecution office has said they are going forward. If you do a plea deal you dont fight evidence admittance and the dates would totally change and not go forward without a change. In addition there was said by LE that new evidence made it possible to do the arrest on BB. There is no current reported flipping at all. There from what I read a big amount of forensics digital and physical that made this possible. DC area has some of the biggest and best forensic science in the world. That can literally take forever in back logged cases that utilize this facilities forensic labs and skilled scientists.

Correction:

Either CB is already dead, and JR doesn't come upon her until BB is there (which is why JR doesn't leave before BB gets there)

Specially in February. Why would you go on an outdoor activity early am in cold February?

I remember that day was extremely warm. I was sitting out on my patio drinking coffee (which I never would have done in freezing temperatures)

Also, if they were going to the zoo in DC, that would take at least 1 hour to 90 minutes to get to from Herndon.

IT wasn't THAT warm. It was about 59 degrees at 7 a.m. (yes, that is warm for Feb.), but the temp was dropping all day. So, it was actually 52 degrees at 9 a.m.

Maybe CB planned for the AP to take the girl on a field trip so because BB told her he wanted to have a rendezvous with her after the AP left. Maybe BB told CB to be "ready" for him to come back into the house, and CB didn't think anything of hearing a door open (when JR actually arrived) b/c she thought it was BB coming back. Conveniently, BB (in his car and disguising his voice/texting to pretend to be CB) could have been messaging with JR telling him to "wait in the foyer until my husband comes home" or whatever. So, JR doesn't actually see CB until BB is actually with him.

Either CB is already dead, and JR doesn't come upon her until BB is there (which is why BB doesn't leave before BB gets there). OR CB is alive when JR arrives, but CB thinks it's BB coming back (so she doesn't scream), and JR thinks this is all part of a fetish/acting job when he and BB go into the bedroom and BB proceeds to kill CB.

Seems like the first would be a better plan for BB because CB wouldn't be questioning who JR was... and it would explain why she was naked. BB probably would have some blood evidence on him as a result of killing CB (if he did it before leaving for McD's.). Did he change his clothes while there? Was there any of CB's blood in the car?

There has to be some explanation for why CB was naked in a room where JR was... and why she didn't call 911 if she didn't know JR, and didn't expect him to be in her bedroom.

I read a news article about this case this morning and was so confused.

Can someone just explain what happened to catch me up?

While I agree it's possible that Brendan stabbed Christine before JR arrived, that would have risked law enforcement being called by JR upon finding Christine. Also, Christine would have had to survive her wounds for a significant amount of time (Brendan waiting at McDonald's, the 13 minutes between 911 calls...) since she was not dead when help arrived.

Interesting comments on reddit nova forum about BB

"I met the guy at a party years ago when we were both still living in NY. I'm not exaggerating when I say that everyone there thought there was something off about him, but nobody could pin it down. I guess now we know."

"I grew up with him and this is spot on. We grew up in manorville long island and went to a small school. He didn't have friends and was off and creepy. My friend managed a bank in her 20s and he started there as a teller and dueijg training stole a considerable sum of money. They were not able to prove it was him but fired him bc of the missing money. He's always been a weirdo."

"Wonder what it was that gave you that feeling? I've met him too and he does have this awkwardness around people. "

What? It's a 35 mins drive to the zoo from Herndon.

35 min at that time? No way. I regularly commute to DC for work from outside the beltway area from Burke area. You will sit for quite awhile just waiting to get over a bridge into DC then rush hour traffic in DC is always a mess.
