St. Stephen's sends a lot of kids to Madlax. Madlax does not feed St. Stephen's. No more than 2 or 3 Madlax players have transferred into St. Stephen's in the last 5 years. Blackwolf was a St. Stephen's feeder for many years, when Trig was a St. Stephen's assistant, but not so much since he left. Madlax players who move to a new school in high school go all over the place - Prep, Landon, Gonzaga, Bullis, Episcopal, St. Stephen's, etc.

I think the "ungrateful quitter" remark is in reference to Madlax owner, who made the remark to a child who decided to leave Madlax for another program.

wow folks, its one thing to talk about local lax programs, training and a kids chance to play in college; quite another to bash a young kid or a team even. these are not celebrities or pros "who know they signed up for this kind of scrutiny" these are kids. time for another sanity check...

Good list and support. I normally would think including SMA makes sense because of the wins against local schools but then it does beg the question about the Baltimore schools, some/many of which have played DMV schools.

I like your rankings but let’s be honest here. Toss SM Annapolis out of the mix. They are a MIAA team, they don’t consider themselves anything but Balto Sun readers and do not affiliate with DC, unless their kids don’t make the UA team from Baltimore and then come down here for a DC slot.

Just being straight, love the area just let’s not fool
ourselves. Can’t stand when the Wash Post ranks these Balto Sun area schools.

DC Area Top 10. I really don't there is a super team in the DC area this Spring but I will try my best to make some sense of who might be the best when it is all said and done in May!

1. Gonzaga - despite the loss to Paul VI, they have a very good win against Boys Latin and played Culver very close. Also own a win against Bullis.

2. Landon - always in the hunt in the IAC and very well coached. Own good wins vs St. Marys Annapolis, Paul VI and Bullis

3. St. Mary's Annapolis - own wins against St. Johns, Prep and Baltimore power McDonogh (just who knocked of Calvert Hall this week)

4. St. Stephens - only team in the nation to knock off Hill Academy. They have a very talented senior class.

5. St. Johns - despite the recent loss to DeMatha in OT, SJC beat Landon, Prep, and PVI

6. Paul VI - took down Gonzaga this week, also own wins against VA Private School powers, STAB and Norfolk Academy.

7. Georgetown Prep - beat Gonzaga. Always deep and very athletic.

8. Bullis - not a single quality win against a reputable program but have the blue chip recruits to compete with anyone.

9. DeMatha - have the best middie in the area on their roster. Own a great win against St. Johns.

10. St. Albans - their FOGO alone should be able to keep them in many games this year.

Need to see which teams rise up with the upcoming warm weather. Spring is arriving and watching games with only a light jacket (or none at all) will be a great treat. Looking forward to some great action.

I'll admit that there is a group of 10 teams that are all very good in the DMV and we will see over the next month who comes out on top.
