Her statements were very cherry picked. They may have been vetted but it was a dumb move.

And she didn’t just post Easter pancakes. You are deliberately being obtuse here. She had a statement tying the photo to this case, something about she must go on as a mom despite what she is going through.

Please. It was a bad look and she wants it both ways. She did this to stand up for all women but it was never about SH. Because yes all women are targets of smear campaigns using their own black face and plantation past and tone deaf interviews and botched brand launches. So relatable!

And yes “all women” have complete power at their job, being able to move the location of where they work because it’s more convenient for them, being able to change schedules of when they work with no regard to anyone else, having powerful lawyers send emails to our work on multiple occasions saying we will cost the company millions by never showing up again unless we get exactly what we want, demanding and getting hundreds of thousands of dollars more for our wardrobe budget and hundreds of thousands of more meals and transportation budget for our entourage of assistants and Nannie’s, and complete creative control. Let’s not forget having all hands meetings at our own home which executives all show up for.

Yep, that’s what all us women experience and thankfully, we have Blake fighting the good fight for us.

But no, nothing about this seems unhinged. It’s just our perception because we don’t like Blake. It’s all perfectly normal.

You aren't the target audience, nothing she'd do would satisfy you. If she'd said nothing, you'd be complaining "why doesn't she say anything? it makes it look like she doesn't even care." If her husband was posting you would complain that he was fighting her battles for her (notice no one is demanding that Emily Baldoni speak up). If she just posted unrelated content you'd say she was hiding something. If she posted nothing at all you'd speculate she was "crashing out" privately.

In a way it doesn't really matter what she does, since she will be attacked by the pro-Baldoni crew no matter what. So she might as well do what she wants, which in this case appears to be exactly what she did.

You are right, but it’s just because most people have not liked Black for years. She’s just really bad at this. Her brand tries to be very aspirational. Her hair line was launched essentially with her saying people have wanted hair like mine my whole life and now you can get it, which is fine. That is definitely one way to go and it works really well for Gwyneth. It doesn’t work for Blake because she has a smugness about her and she’s also deeply insecure and so we see right through it.

Every text exchange Blake had she cannot go more than three or four lines without referencing Ryan. Even to her best friend. She would randomly be texting with Taylor and then say something like “I just love my babies and RR” so much! What? And then when she was reaching out tentatively to Taylor to ask if everything was OK, she even had to say Ryan was like you should ask her and then when she was trying to be vulnerable with Justin early in filming, she even had a caveat, Ryan said I should call you.

And then on the red carpet, Ryan wrote the rooftop scene. Just making sure everyone knew he was a part of this movie and then “look at the Deadpool marquee across the street! I can’t help staring across the street at the marquee of my husband’s movie!” Just at every turn, she can’t do an interview without referencing him and reminding people about him.

It’s incredibly offputting and so yes when we’re seeing more and Blake no matter what she does, it’s going to just be offputting. 100% agree with you that she can’t do anything right because she’s just a deeply unlikable person.

She also can’t even be vulnerable. Her message this whole time that they’ve had the upper hand and that she scored every victory and even this where her fans may give her sympathy - she’s reframing it that they that she didn’t really lose cause they weren’t concerned about sexual harassment anyway. OK so why should anyone even feel sorry for her she won! She wants it both ways and it’s just not working.

You sound completely obsessed with her. This is so many words and so much weird projection. I don't even know anything about her haircare line or what she said about her husband at the premier of her movie.

When I dislike a celebrity, I simply avoid news about them because I don't care. They are a total stranger to me. I don't understand this thing where you obsessively follow every little tidbit about someone you claim to hate. It's like the hate *is* the entertainment for you. It's so, so weird. I almost hope you are some kind of bot plant who is being paid to post this crap because if a real person is spending their time poring over the minutia about a celebrity they claim to dislike this much... how sad.

Um, I thought all of us on this thread are fully admitting we are into this case? All of the info I posted I have learned about by following this case. I didn’t even know about this movie or much about Blake hardly until the NYT article and Baldoni’s follow up website. I listen to a podcast hosted by two sisters called pop apologists and they dedicated several episodes to going through the article and the website so yea I got invested and learned about it and saw videos of her at the premiere, learned how she launched her brand alongside the movie, and yes have continued to follow the case since the huge dump of info with her texts and on this thread.

Which, by the way, you are also doing.

Don’t know or care what someone posted on some random reddit subreddit, but it sure sounds like you have an unhealthy obsession with this case, and can’t look at Blake’s behavior objectively.

It's especially weird because he really hasn't "claimed" or said shit since this whole thing started and was roundly skewered for checking out to Hawaii with his family and letting the lawyers handle it.

This seems like it’s been the right move for Justin. Blake‘s PR strategy is very confusing to me and seems outdated. Also for her to be speaking out so much and for Ryan not to be saying a word makes it seem like they are misaligned. They might not be, but her pouring her heart out in stories and him posting only stories from his soccer team is very stark.

She should just let her PR and lawyers handle it and shut up, but she can’t seem to do that.

See this is why I can't take you guys seriously. Lively has said almost nothing publicly about this case. But she posted a few times after last week's decision. Her posts were not some emotional "crash out." They were measured, vetted statements from her lawyer, Lively herself, and some quotes from the case. And now she's gone back to silence or posting about mom stuff.

So when people say she's "melting down"... she's clearly not melting down. A melt down doesn't involve a measured statement from your lawyer and PR team. And you also say she "can't shut up" about the case, but that's mostly what she's done.

A crash out is what the President does online, or what Shi Laboef has been doing in New Orleans. Not being able to shut up describes that MomTok/Bachelorette lady. It doesn't describe this situation. Why lie?

Said nothing publicly about the case? Last April, she gave a speech at the Time 100 where she described herself as an advocate for sexual harassment victims. Then she hires the Epstein victims’ lawyer who served no purpose on the case other than to praise Blake as an advocate for victims of sexual harassment. But wait, now she is a digital dragon or some such.

And of course, who can forget the NY Times article that started all of this. Or the SNL 50 year celebration joke.

Justin and Jamey on the other hand have truly said nothing.

Dp, she looked unhinged and likely further damaged her reputation with Liman because the excerpts were posted in a manner than misrepresented the opinion. One hundred percent agree that these posts were made against the advice of pr and legal teams.

She has no target audience. Her career, popularity, and fame -- especially at this advanced, middle-aged stage of her life -- is totally fake and only propped up by her proximity Harvey and then to her husband. She's phony, boring, mean spirited, and can't act. Nobody cares about her at all.

Oh did Lively's instagram posts fail to convince the group of people who hate her and idolize Justin Baldoni of the merit of her case? Shocking.

It was not very strategic. It was just bombing her stories with lengthy posts from the ruling. It wasn’t effective as you really have to freeze the story and squint your eyes to even see what she was trying to post about. And she posted just way too much information for people to make it through. It also was a mistake to put her lawyers firm names on it, but not have their formal letterhead. It looked like she didn’t have their formal support for this and put it together on her own.

There is also some mixed messaging that they were fine with letting the sexual harassment go because it was never about sexual harassment. OK? And then bringing up this whole new concept of digital violence. It’s all over the place.

My first instinct was crashing out. If that’s too strong a term to your point, I’ll simply say it doesn’t seem very strategic or effective and she either needs to start listening to her PR people or get some new PR people.
