Thank you. We've tried to convince her of this, but she's been adamant that she needs to go to the polling site to "make sure her vote is counted." She doesn't believe that votes by mail get counted.

I really, really want to believe more R women will be like your family but I’m not counting on white women to do the right thing. And I’m a white woman! I’m focusing on registering voters in key states then mobilizing to vote.

My 91 year old immigrant mother (she immigrated to the US in the 1950's and naturalized in the 1960's) has voted Republican all her life through 2016. In 2020, she voted for Biden because of Trump. She says will risk her life in 2024 (she's 91 and despite having gotten all of her Covid tests, she is very wary about Covid exposure) to go and vote against Trump again. It may not matter in Florida, but she will go and do this again.

Activists are getting close to the number of signatures they need for a referendum to legalize abortion in Florida, so she may get to vote for that, too - and that’s a really good way to make her vote matter as well.

We need to tie this vote to the Senate and elect A democrat. With SineManchin gone we could enshrine Roe. But that means Biden needs to be explicit about that.

It helps that my mom have severe life-threatening complications with my sister in the late 80s.... And let's just say something options and not even be available today to us

Wow I hadn’t seen this yet, thanks so much for linking. It’s stunning to me that they looked at January 6 and then decided to do this two days later.

My guess is that the Conservative judges thought that this might be their last chance to do this. They expected the political environment to be completely changed once the January 6 insurrectionists started getting convicted. They also figured that there would be a big change in political tilt. They claim to be nonpartisan, but they probably knew that Jan 6 was going to completely change even the legal landscape and it might cause them problems later. They weren't certain that the right cases would trickle up to them on the topic and they weren't sure if there were going to be constraints like new laws that would make doing away with RvW so they jumped at, potentially, their last chance.

Any Democrat or independent who doesn't vote Democrat because of Gaza is just an idiot at this point....... Very narrow-minded and can't see the big picture..... I care about Gaza and many world issues and many domestic issues, but the only thing I will be voting on for the next few decades is my right bodily autonomy..... Other than guns, I can't think of any other issue that would potentially sway my vote in any direction
