Great time trials for our division 3 team today. Not a mask in sight. Felt like real life.
Ours was a bit disorganized. Slow, but yet chaotic at times. After a year away I think a lot of people didn’t know what they were doing.
disogranized, slow and chaotic is every time trial

There have been at least 5 negative cases reported since then- which most likely means that some of the cases leading up to the last case on May 19th (and possibly including that case) were false positives.
We are adjacent to Arlington, which also has a negative case count as the 7 day running average and 14 day total case count.
all of Fairfax has a 7 day average case count of 1- and when put in terms of 10,000 pop it is .1.

THIS. I don't get it. Covid has disappeared from NoVA due to vaccinations. We're never going to eradicate it completely from the world, but it can't get much lower in our area than these numbers. What if a vaccination isn't approved for kids? Are you going to keep your kids in a mask forever? Even with no cases in the area?
Who?! Who is “you”? Most people outside of recess in elementary schools aren’t requiring their kids to mask.
Sorry-- "you" means the people on this thread who are advocating for the younger kids to stay masked at meets all summer. Which includes my pool. Our team reps aren't allowing spectators at meets either. You drop your kid + mask and baggie and leave. I feel badly for the visiting teams swimming against us in A meets -- parents who have to drive 45 min and then can't even see their kid swim.

Lots of people think it’s silly.
It’s what USA Swimming is still doing.
Great. We are not all USA swimming. There are teams in California not requiring masks, the only other state crazier than ours. Teams last year weren’t requiring masks when we couldn’t even have a season.
I get it, our hands are tied. But we are just keeping this craziness going.
We who? The NVSL? They aren't requiring masks.

Not one single case on our team or any we swam against. They end where they start so the mask in bag was do able but utterly stupid and they still had it off near each other.
It can be hard enough to get volunteers so now we need mask
Runners? 🤣
