Congratulations! Any merit received, or does that come later?
Thanks everyone. Its a bit overwhelming. Like the other poster, when I saw the jump in the number of applications coupled with the fact that UC needed extra time to process all the ED/EA applications, I was sure DC would not get in.
I doubt there will be any merit aid- DC applied ED. But we planned for this and saved so DC could have the option to go where ever. A big gift, I know, but we will be fine, even though we do not have what would be considered high incomes around the DMV.
I'm trying not to out DC on this public board, but I guess some can figure it out who it is, just as I have in the past from other postings. As an obsessive reader of this board and occasional poster, its been nice to hear the positive comments. Thanks!

I know of a local private school kid. Both parents went there and have made multi-millon dollar gifts. Smart kid, don't mean to diminish he accomplishments, but...
Rejected...Our son has a 4.85/4.0 at a VA Governor's STEM School. 1550 SAT/ 35 ACT, 8 varsity letter's, captainship in one. Has dedicated over 700 hours of community service to include youth advisory board of the largest youth volunteer organization in our area. Club sports at the highest level and all of the other obligatory clubs...National, Spanish, Science and Math Honor Society as well as Special Olympics Committee. Reality is these schools are a crapshoot, can't get mad if you don't make it.

Congrats! Care to share stats and ECs?

Congrats! VA?
Congrats also! But I'm confused. I know someone applying; I thought the deadline was in January. Is it rolling admissions?
The WP admissions specifically says that there are no rolling admissions and the deadline is January 31st. Maybe PP meant their DC got all their requirements in?
Yes offer of admission and accepted to USMA. DS had a Letter of Assurance (LOA) in July - guarantee of admission if you pass physical, physical fitness test and get nomination. USMA uses LIA much more than other academies. They have already offered admission to about 50 kids. And yes - VA Congressional nomination.
What kind of stats does one need to gain admission to USMA?
