How do "we" know they aren't?
If you're so damned concerned, ask the coach, rather than bitch on an anonymous message board.

Not only that but before practices and games a COVID form in the game changer app needs to be filled out for each player and obviously the kids who are practicing with team that aren't officially on the team aren't submitting the form. Also, these kids that aren't part of the team are participating in club scrimmages taking playing time away from actually kids who have paid their dues for the year. I think it's really the coach who should be taking responsibility for this as they are the one who is orchestrating all of this. I'm sure other parents on the team feel the same way but they don't want to speak up cause they're scared the coach will take it out on their child. Something has to be done about this and I'm really pissed that this is being allowed to occur.
Hmmm... either you are on our team or McLean does this with all their teams. It pisses me off too. We have 19 girls on the team and don't need any "guests" coming to the scrimmages to take play time. And we don't need any additional players. We already have one more than can be rostered.
Anonymous wrote:MYS uses an app Team Manager - Game Changer. Before each practice/game a form in the app needs to be completed for each player answering a certain set of COVID related questions. Usually a parent fills out this form for the player prior to the activity. The kids that are not part of the team are not on the roster and therefore their parent does not have access to the Team Manager - Game Changer app. How do we know those kids are ok to attend practice if the form is not filled out before practice? Hence, it puts all the kids on the team at risk.

Did someone get COVID or are you just trying to use COVID as an excuse to say you don’t want any competition?
I think this person is making the point that the kids practicing with the team who aren't officially on the team aren't following the COVID protocols the club has in place which puts the other kids at risk.
I understand what they are trying to say. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of trying to complain about a club by using COVID (which is a valid concern) in the same paragraph that you are complaining about playing time in a scrimmage. Is your son/daughter not playing in the scrimmages or games because of fear of COVID? Because how do you know the protocols of the opponents?
I'm sure all clubs have players that come to practices to tryout so how do those clubs handle those new players?

My son doesn’t like the kids in that part of NOVA and the parents don’t have the best reputation, though Arlington gives them a run for their money in my book. I would be delighted if he changed his mind as he gets older. It is a lot closer to where we live vs the club that he goes to now. I am sure McLean has done nothing wrong. Perception is not reality no matter how much people are slaves to perception. And they are often fluid, as the theme of the thread suggests.
What is wrong with the parents?
