When you owe more than you are worth, you are broke. When you pay your daughter, who is an officer in your company, as a consultant, that is illegal. There is so much here is it nuts, and rubes sit here and poo poo it as if it is no biggie.
Fine screw it, I won't pay any more taxes. Why should I? Paying taxes is for suckers and losers.
Anonymous wrote:This is what will make the military turn on Trump. Even your lowliest enlisted grunt pays more in taxes in a few months of service.
They will be chomping at the bit to frog March this fraud out of the White House.

Exactly. It amazes me how low the NYT has fallen.
Then demand the "real" taxes from the president to demonstrate that this is fake news. Otherwise, there is no way the NY Times would open itself up to the liability for such an article if it weren't true.
I'm sure he'll be suing the NYT for libel any minute now...
No, he won't. Why? He'll open himself up to Discovery and the NYT's attorneys will gain access to his financial documents and tax returns. Why? Because truth is an absolute defene to libel.
Correct, this is just a made up story to bait him into suing

But did he actually break any laws over the taxes? I thought people were expecting tax fraud? So far there isn't any that I can tell.
Did you was the whole article?
Yes. And there's nothing to show he broke laws.
I thought the tax returns were supposed to show stuff that he'd go to prison for. Maybe I was wrong. But so far nothing we've seen shows Trump breaking laws. He did file his returns, he didn't commit tax fraud.
Time to wake up. Actually I feel sorry for you.
I don't think you read the article. The consulting fees paid to Ivanka, a Trump employee, were made to reduce and deflate his income? Tax fraud. Falsely declaring a private residence as a business investment? Tax fraud. There's more but those are some easy examples that jumped out. Also the nearly $79 million tax refund seems to have been based on lies. Tax fraud.
Bingo. There’s a whole lot of tax evasion (not avoidance) in those returns. And those clutching their pearls that they do the same with their real estate investments aren’t actually reading the news article.

1. The idiocy on displayed here by those who hate Trump is real
2. Trump will win in 5 weeks despite attempts by many.
You know, if Trump had released his tax returns as a candidate, when he was supposed to, we idiots wouldn't be displaying our idiocy right now.
The story would be over. Or ... Trump would be in jail right now...

So really, this is the story of a rich guy dodging taxes while us saps in the middle class pay. What a shocker.Next you're going to tell me Bill Gates isn't a humanitarian, he's actually using his foundation and giving pledge "promise" to duck taxes and hoard over $100 billion dollars.
No, the story is that our President is beholden to whomever he owes over 400 million dollars.
I have clients who owe many, many millions of dollars, but those loans are secured by assets that are worth far more. Again, there may be nothing to see here.
