Yes, masks when sick if people must go out is a good idea. Staying home when symptomatic is best.

Once we reach herd immunity, I'd think it very silly if mask mandates continue. Are there people that want us to continue masking once the pandemic is over? Sure, if you're sick and need to go out in public, wear a mask (this was not uncommon in several Asian countries before the pandemic). But otherwise, no thanks.

I think in the DMV masks and social distancing are definitely here to stay. We in this area have rightly made these small actions part of our daily lives. I’m happily surprised how disciplined the people are here.
