If any ex-DA club was in ECNL, they would broadcast it. As of now, Arlington/FCV/MU are not in ECNL. With Loudoun, VDA, and BRYC in ECNL I think it’s relatively understood ex-DA clubs won’t be invited to join ECNL this year. COVID-19 our this whole thing into hyperdrive, and it basically sucks for ex-DA that didn’t get invite to ECNL. It’s up to those clubs now how to place themselves, and the general line of thinking is:
- DPL/GAL (many ex-DA clubs going into this)
- Forming new top division of EDP
- Resume their current leagues
Yes, the silence is deafening.

There are no reassuring signs that the St. James will be able to reopen any time soon. If they go bankrupt, does FCV go with them?

Is FCV prepared to fold entirely? If they lose DA because the players elect to go elsewhere then what resources do they have?

It's not obvious how this plays out if there are no new acceptances into ECNL. New leagues like GAL may need early commitments from clubs to even be ready for a Fall start, should COVID restrictions allow it. The need for club commitments will flow down to players who will would have tough decisions to make.

Youth Soccer is a bad soap opera with politics running the race. FCV is not getting ECNL. I think Arlington won’t either unfortunately. Best thing for families to do is talk with your child and find the right Coach for your kid at what ever level your child wants to play in.

YTC=youth training center. This is the regional invite for youth national team training to develop the player pool. While they definitely get players around here to this level it’s very difficult beyond it to the next level-I think only 1 girl made it made it from FCV if you look at the lists. The person being referenced to in this thread, Diane Drake, is a talent scout for this program.

This is about integrity of the role. How can anyone not question motives when anyone puts themselves in that position - even if the player is good. For the record, she is good. But, dumb decision none the less.
So I have younger players and don’t know what YTC means. I’m gathering it is just local originally? Can someone tell me how many kids go? And what are the next levels beyond that? How many get to progress to each one? Does it even mean anything? Or is this what ODP was 5 years ago that everyone makes fun of now?
