04 never had them many leave.

Probabley ODFC 05 team that merged with FCV.

I remeber thinking "big mistake".

But I'm sure history will repeat itself. Always does.

04 Premier. ODFC 05 team wasn't going to be able to stay together so not sure how it was a "big mistake". They were stuck in a club with no pathway and, frankly, ODFC's record for losing teams speaks for itself. Their other 05 girls team left this year, 3 boys teams left last year. They can't have more than 6-7 teams left.

The mistake was not leaving ODFC. The mistake was joining the wrong club. That's why most of the team left for other clubs after one year.

Maybe so. Difficult, though, to stay together if some players are capable of making DA/ECNL and others are not.

It was a bait and switch.

Always someone else’s fault eh?

Remember when Loudoun 04 and 05 were really good teams until they merged with FCV and the teams got ripped apart.

Remember when the USSF rep recruited players for FCV

Remeber when ODFC 05 were #1 in the state and they merged with FCV and got ripped apart.

Remember when a handful of McLean 05 girls left to play at Spirit and their vacancies were backfilled by some of the ODFC 05 players.

Remember when always turns into "Guess just what happened"

Mergers are good for a select few but bad for many others.

This is such a stupid post. Take a look at any top club roster and tell me how similar it looks at U17 as it did at U13. Just plain dumb to post this post.

Dont get emotional.

I don't know if that is a matter of poor management at FCV or that ECNL was a better fit or both. I assume both because none of the players left for MU.

Where did these players go after leaving FCV? McLean? VDA?

I think it was referenced here that a few stayed while most went to either McLean or Loudoun.

I'll let the speaks on it. I'm an outsider when it comes to that merger. However, I can tell you that every merger leads to teams being ripped apart.
