Sure. A wall/fence/barrier is a deterrent. I think the border patrol would see someone heading our way with a ten foot+ ladder in tow.
You people are ridiculous. And, you are ridiculous because you know damned well that walls/fences/physical barriers work. That is why the Dems have voted for such structures in the past. The only thing that has changed is that Trump is now president.
Of course they know that walls work. That is exactly why they don't want it.
a few weeks ago one of the migrants broke their back trying to jump the wall where there was an 18 foot secton. The wall works. I doubt many will be trying it after her in that section.
Explain why Trump turned down $25 billion for the wall when it was offered, if this was so important to him. We all know he's just grandstanding.
I don't remember all the back and forth from back then, but I think it had to do with not wanting to give amnesty to DACA receipients. He should have gotten more than $25B. He should have gotten changes to the family immigration laws as well if he was going to make that trade. There is no way it is fair for the DACA receipients to receive citizenship and then turn around and be able to sponsor their parents (the original law breakers).
Changes to family immigration after his inlaws were the beneficiaries of chain immigration?![]()
Yes.
Just like we have changed driving laws even after many of us were the beneficiaries of earlier driving ages.
We have drinking ages even after many of us were the beneficiaries of earlier drinking ages.
We have made it more difficult to drive with a child in the car.
We have made it more difficult to care for young children - I know I wasn't the only latch key kid in my first grade class. Current parents in Maryland can't do that.
If you want us not to change laws after people have benefited from them, we have a whole lot of laws we need to reverse.

But no, he turned down the compromise and did nothing but tweet until the republican Congress left town for the holidays. It was only a few weeks ago.
Now he's saying Democrats were responsible? When they just took over, only the House, January 3?
Trump could have had his wall. But he chose to waste time and blame others. And then act like he doesn't have any sense at all.
Did you look at the vote tallys?
95% of GOP voted for it.
5% voted against it.
Not enough to pass without democratic support.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If walls and fences work can Trumpsters explain why illegals were found working at Trump's golf resort? Which is presumably fenced?
because there should have been a wall at the southern border... but since there isnt they walked over
So why drag Obama's fence into this?

You yourself just admitted it takes people to stop them. The wall itself isn’t enough. So why billions of dollars for something that doesn’t work? Train more border police with that money.
Oh, FFS. Border agents are necessary. More of them would be great. A border wall COMBINED with border agents is the solution. Even the border agents say this. There are not enough border agents to stretch the border, Einstein.
Your arguments are getting more and more lame.
So they will scale the wall where there are no border agents.
Thats why we have drones, motion detection cameras, etc. if they make it past the initial barrier. The point is primarily to keep them out. If they get over the wall, track them down. But don't start the defensive measures after they've waltzed right into the country.

Anonymous wrote:The general alt-right response to why the Canadian healthcare system won't work for the US is that it can't be "scaled up" -- that when take something which can be funded, delivered, monitored and enforced on a small scale, it doesn't necessarily translate into something which can be done on a large scale.
Sometimes small issues at the small scale become insurmountable on a larger scale. For example, the issue of eminent domain is not usually an issue for building a fence or wall on your own property -- but it sure as hell is going to rear up if you are fencing off all of the southern border of the US, and exponentially so.
