Germany, for example, doesn’t allow homeschooling. It’s not a backward country at all. In fact, I remember a case where a German family sought asylum in the US, in order to be able to homeschool their children. They actually got asylum. Hilarious!

I thought the point of public school education, up to the age you can drop out, is to produce educated voters, thus to support our democracy. We have people too ignorant to vote, democracy is at risk.

LOL. It sounds like PPs country understands the value of education, and what a disservice it is to society to have a large of contingent of completely uneducated people. Sadly, we are living with the effects of that reality here.
