This was never alleged prior.
It just recently surfaced at Lyle’s parole hearing.

Funny how it wasn’t mentioned over the past 35 years at all.

The only reason these two got a “second” chance was because there were those 2 Netflix shows about them.
Before then, they were just written off as two spoiled rich kids who murdered their folks for their money.
They became famous for awhile but now that they both were denied parole my guess is they will soon be forgotten.

I find it hard to read the "I don't think they were abused" or "it wasn't because of the abuse" comments, after reading details about the abuse that are too specific to reasonably be made up. The details sound credible and horrific. It was extremely frequent. There was "nice" sexual abuse and "bad" sexual abuse, depending on whether they were being punished vs "rewarded" for something. The kid snapped after they told him he couldn't leave for college, which he'd been holding out as his escape from the lifelong abuse. The mother actively enabled it. I find it entirely feasible that they were that desperate and angry and terrified, all of the things. It's not an excuse by any means, and it also doesn't mean they're good people (don't know them from spam), but I do believe that's what happened.

I don’t think anyone is arguing they shouldn’t have been convicted for murder. But jail is supposed to be both punitive and rehabilitative. They’ve served 30 years and they appear to be rehabilitated. So why are they still in jail?

They murdered their parents because they are murderers, not because they were abused. Lots of people are abused and it doesn't make them kill their abusers. They were adults. They could have walked away or called the police. They could have written a tell-all. They could have said, "You're dead to me. I will never see or speak to you again." Instead they killed them. Because they are murderers.

They keep adding on new angles to the narrative.

The latest is that their mother, Kitty also abused them.

When does all their lying end??

We were told by the media how these individuals were such model prisoners for so long. How they helped other prisoners out while both completed college too.
How they had changed their behaviors and were changed men now.

Now after their parole hearings are done it has come out that they both had infractions on their records - Erik moreso.
Running a tax scheme to swindle innocent people is a big deal. As is dealing drugs and asking people on the outside to lie for them in court.
And even though they have reasons for doing so, it is a rule infraction to obtain drugs as well as cellular phones from a prison employee.

If it weren’t for their most recent Netflix series, no one would be even discussing these murderers at all in this day and age.
It is entirely on the fact that they had a TV show that they were resentenced by a judge.
They will never get out of prison.
And they need to stop with all of the false hope that they will.
Plus smuggling in contraband (yes, even purchasing a cellphone from a prison guard is considered that!) will not get them paroled at all.

For these two men, it appears that following rules is simply not in their DNA.

They viciously killed both parents who were watching TV.

I am still not convinced the father did anything to them, or if he did, the mother knew.
