Did anyone else think young Ned looked like Neil Patrick Harris?

OK something DH and I couldn't figure out- why was it such a big deal that Eddard Stark didn't kill that swordsman at the tower like the stories said? It was a fight to the death, who cares if the other guy stabbed him in the back??

So, my favorite part so far this season has been the flashbacks with Bran. I imagine the pitch went something like this:

"But how will the viewer know that this guy is supposed to be Ned Stark?"

"I know - let's give him the EXACT SAME HAIRCUT! Surely he will never change his hairstyle in 20 years!"

"Brilliant!"

I just keep hoping that isnt really Shaggy Dog. I HATE when they kill the direwolves.

Me, too.

The only thing I haven't liked about the series is that it doesn't have enough time with the direwolves.

Whaaaat? That sounds like khalessi talk. Did the witch tell Cersei this?

In the books, the witch tells her that the "volunqar" will strangle her. Volanqar means little brother in Valyrian and she assumes it means Tyrion, which partly explains her obsession with seeing him killed. But she was also born a few minutes before Jaime so a lot of readers think he will do it.

I like the idea that Jaime will kill Cersei, given the way his character is developing in the books. But I also like to dream of sweet trusting Tommen one day realizing how she lied to him his whole life about his parentage, manipulated him to rule/ruin the realm, destroyed Margery whom he loves, etc and killing her- he's the little brother amongst her children.

I think he loves it. I can't think of any other well rounded roles for little people, (Warwick Davis in Willow perhaps). This character is a complex 3 dimensional character. Any actor would be thrilled to have a part like Tyrion. I'm sure Peter Dinklage is thrilled to have the role. The fact that his character is made fun of is much less demeaning that playing a "cute" munchkin. It's a part. Sometimes actors play ugly people, mean people, and even Hitler.

Okay, now I know what I want to be when I grow up. Someone who wargs into a dragon.

I assumed he'd warg into a dragon.
