Unfortunately the Butcher is not actually in his memoir. It appears to have been a plot device. That's what you get trying to reconstruct historical events from a Hollywood action film.

My dad and uncles are all Wwii. None of them bragged about kills.
People generally don't. But, most people in WWII--or many other wars never see combat. And, all those who do, don't necessarily kill anyone.
Nor did those soldiers in WWII have to defend themselves to the likes of leftists like Michael Moore...
Why are you so obsessed with Michael Moore? Why do you or anyone care what he things about American Sniper, the movie, the man, or snipers generally? Seems like you're just making the Fox News talking point.
Look, I'm not going to criticize Chris Kyle for his actions, though I don't particularly care for bravado of this nature. I cannot even imagine the things he has seen. I'm not even going to criticize the movie. War is awful. People are going to bring their own views, biases, or sensitivities to it. Unfortunately, some people will glorify the role of sniper, glorify killing people, etc. "'Merica, fuck yeah!" Some people are just looking for a reason and if it isn't this movie, it will be something else.
Have you read this thread? Articles in mainstream? Moore's attitude all over them
Moore doesn't own attitudes.
The left seems to adopt them pretty quickly.
Honestly, I think you are overstating Moore's influence....but carry on with your narrative.

Maybe because we managed to invade the right countries in that war.
Maybe because back then, people had more damn respect. Progressives are like small whiny children who have no discipline nor self-control.
My dad fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life-long Democrat and progressive.
God Bless him if he was like the OWS brats of today. I'm sure he raised you to follow your dreams and take government handouts to do so? Or perhaps he raised you to spit on returning Vietnam soldiers?
I somehow doubt it...
You seem to be going off topic. How did handouts get in here? A snarky and off topic conservative comment like this is exactly how we spent pages of time discussing MLK on this thread. If you want to do it again, feel free but it's your loss.

Terrorists are a diseas and a cancer, and some men have the courage toshoot them dead. They don't feel any guilt or remorse or anything that an average person might feel.
People who don't get this film see the terrorists as the good guys. They truly believe we created them, so we should be empathetic.
We invaded Iraq and there was no link between 9/11 and Iraq. There were no weapons of mass destruction. How would you behave if your country was invaded? Would defending your soil be terrorism? Do you even think to ask these questions? Did the movie ask any of thee questions?
Soldiers are trained to protect the person standing to the left and to the right of them. They just protect themselves and each other, and hopefully minimal damage and casualties to the innocent in the country where they are fighting.
Why does this film have to dig into every political argument about why or how we were in Iraq?
