Anyway, I don't really care what you think. I, and clearly many others (as this thread shows), will keep bringing my kid. Feel free to report it, I'll put my foot down and management can call the police if they truly want to pursue it. I'll take my chances.

Or, no, because it is ridiculous that places make rules but provide no other accommodations like family changing rooms, and maybe in the summer your idea works but hell no am I taking my kid outside, wet, in winter, even with a special coat. It has nothing to do with inconvenience. It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that if you have an issue with a young child changing with his mom and not being left alone with strange men, YOU ARE A PERVERT.
YOU are an entitled ass! Perhaps the solution is to find a way to make the men's locker room safe for kids to change in. Perhaps you should seek to have the rules and laws in place actually enforced. Perhaps the solution to your problem is not bucking the rules that you don't like, and disregarding the comfort of the people the room was actually intended for. But you can't think past your own damn nose.

I always took my kids, soaking wet, out to the car. Didn't want to deal with bitchy women who only care about themselves. My 6 yr old had no business alone in men's locker room. None at all. When he was too old for the ladies locker room we would go to the car wet, but seriously, any mom who wants to go in the ladies locker room with her boys is fine with me. I didn't have the energy to fight that fight, but more power to the moms who can do it.
+1 many of these places have one, IF ANY, "family" changing rooms that have to accommodate anyone with kids, anyone disabled, and anyone who just happens to feel like want to use it. The wait to use one is ridiculous and no way would I send my 5 year old son into the locker room alone. For one, he isn't very good with getting a wet bathing suit off but even if he was, no way.

Most places have rules about the ages and if 5 is okay by the place's rules then it is fine. I would love to see you report someone to the manager when they are following the rules.
