I know a couple who have an Emerson (girl) and Beckett (boy).

There are THREE Emerson girls under 5 at church and I had 2 in my toddler room last week. We've got a Beckett also. And Peyton, Payton, Peyton. and Peyton. boys and girls.

Atticus
Gideon
Harper
^^^
I know far too many lawyer/activists with kids with those names. Pretentious. And: an unfair burden for your non-lawyer offspring (although Harper isn’t singularly linked to the legal profession).

Stone
Phillips (with an S)
Sloane
Bronwyn
Lawson

Embarrassing, yes; but not really pretentious.

Is it terrible that I actually love Logan and LaGuardia? I mean - naming your kid LaGuardia. (If it actually happened!)

Blakesley is awfully pretentious and someone named their baby that.

I know a few Blakesley babies from my rural town.

Blakesley sounds very Honey Boo Boo to my ear.

Girls I know of who have pretentious names/pretentious families: Campbell, Berkeley, Landry, Amelie (not French), Simone (also not French), Mackenzie, Harper (those are obviously more common so don’t sound as pretentious anymore but still are in my opinion), Harlow

Boys: Russell, Whittier, Prentiss, Pierce, Henrik (not Scandinavian)

Dagny. I just think of Ayn Rand and how the child is being raised to despise the plebes.
