I knew this was problematic when the news reports didn't state that officials had a suspect in custody, they just had a suspect. I was like, whoa, dude's going to flee. What a mess. A bad day for crisis reporting.

I really wish they would not release all this information. It looks like they will be able to find him through his phone. The next guy will leave his cell phone at home. Its like the police have to show how smart they are. Just get him and don't tell how you do it.

+1,000. That would mean they're interrogating (er, beating the crap out of) him. There are supposed to be at least two people working together so perhaps there is another perpatrator who has not yet been apprehended.

I see one white guy being searched for? Earlier reports reported two white guys and three middle eastern men seemingly working together. Any 'cred' to that?

As for which news sources are acceptable, none of them in a crisis.

Sage observation, so true.

Honest question.

CNN has not been a reliable news source for some time. Remember how it reported the outcome of the Supreme Court decision regarding Obamacare wrong? Now it is struggling to explain why it reported an arrest that hasn't happened.

As for which news sources are acceptable, none of them in a crisis. Once an arrest has been made, every major source will have the news. I would tend to trust the local network affiliates and newspapers in this case, so the Boston NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX outlets, as well as the Globe, because those guys probably have the best contacts with the Boston Police. CNN is relying on Fran Townsend -- GWB's old terrorism advisor. She is not likely to have found a clue since her days in the administration.

I would trust the Onion over any of the three.

What are acceptable news sources in your opinion?
