I guess not if you are affiliated with the Top Teams - you just want to lord over the idiot commoners - and trash anyone who dares to challenge the status quo. Get real!

It's generally good for the growth of a sport if there is more parity, competition, opportunity.

If some of these people would have their way, it'd be the same 5 teams playing each other over and over and over again (shit sometimes it's like that now)

The truth is there are different programs for different people, different coaches, different expectations, different philosophies. Some work for some some, some don't. But to trash clubs, players and coaches, just a bunch of cope.

Grow up.

You’re using a plural when it’s focused trashing. How do you know who is trashing HOCO? It’s a universal reaction to them. It may even be those with a connection or experience with Century HS. If I was gathering evidence from the thread, though, I’d call MDU the likely guilty party. Yet you don’t name them!

No one has had a negative word to say about FLC 2034 or Broadneck 2034, two great teams that are not top clubs.

Enthusiastic Hoco dads. 🤮 No one is saying it’s not a very good team.

By the way, how do you know if any goalies are talented when the field players are Gods of lacrosse and the competition is the likes of Lanco (who), Pride NOVA (who), Bluestar (who) and HLC Limelight (who) in their upcoming tournament? How many shots on goal will there be in these games? How often will the ball be in their opponent’s offensive half?

So your argument is that no one can know whether these goalies are actually good because of the upcoming tournament they haven't yet played in?

So cutesy. 🤮

You claim your team is the next coming, which we presume means they completely dominate possession against 34 teams and it’s always on your offensive half. How many shots on goal do they get? You can count up this weekend’s tournament for us! Or look at another tourney or NGLL (18 goals against, how many shots on goal).

Don’t care about the goalies but love your lofty view of every ounce of the team. All Chloe Humphreys! Anyone suck or mid? I see they are holding tryouts and had open practices.

They obviously mean the parents. Fallston High School is a perennial power as well.

FLC has a strong program in the younger age groups similar to HoCo - also similar where they would lose players to M&D / Coppermine in Middle School, hope they can keep them home - I bet M&D has already tried to still some of their players as well.

It was stated that the Hoco 33 & 34 coaches/teams were looking to switch to M&D but they turned them down due to reputation of the coaches. How true that is who knows but the lacrosse world is small and word travels fast.

I could see that. May mean defections coming instead.

2034 is an anomaly year. Period.

For the splitting talent commenter, Doubtful Hoco 2034 has a majority Howard County girls. Numbers could be few. 2035 & 2033 likely have way more. Hero’s will have the overwhelming majority but agree that some Hoco would push Hero’s down to White.

Throw into the mix—many M&D teams practice in Howard County. They have plenty of players from the county, as well as from Baltimore and Montgomery Counties. That’s left some extra Baltimore girls for the benefit of Coppermine and Predators and other clubs up there, at the young ages.

Stepping back, the focus on team performance at these ages is wasted mental energy. It can be inflated or not predictive of continued performance for many reasons. Results can be skewed. Take with a grain of salt (especially for NGLL Year 1). Why?

*The stars at age 9 often aren’t the stars later.
*Team composition changes.
*There are no divisions in NGLL Year 1 and schedules aren’t equitable.
*New NGLL Year 1 teams are playing catch-up to teams who played together as teams the prior year. Coppermine, Hoco, Rebels, who else? MDU? Hero’s gets a little boost with their robust developmental program and “play up” model (allowing girls to get a year of NGLL experience and then come down and do it all again).

Let’s not anoint the next Chloe Humphreys or UNCs.

Some definitely can’t handle the 2034 Coaches honest and high intensity style of coaching. Some admire it. And some are coming to Century from out of district just for her coaching.
All of this is pure jealousy. Just so sad. She is a phenomenal, caring, and a coach who works 24/7 for her players. Awful what people are saying when protected by an anonymous keyboard.

Is that also why parents of amazing talent are refusing to send their kids to Century to play for her. Not to mention she only allows 3 girls to even score on her team. Its get the ball to the chosen ones and let them do the work. She doesnt care about the team as a whole only those who benefit her.

This made me smile. Very centering. Thanks for the much needed reminder.

p.s. I’m also not M&D guy.
