Wasn’t that a Trump issue, not the hockey team? There’s generally a pretty healthy respect among men’s and women’s hockey teams. I could see why people wish they’d stood up to Trump on the call, but they were in the locker room right after winning an Olympic gold and he’s their president and who’s gonna challenge him in that moment? Give them a few minutes to think on it, some of them might have.

It makes the sport more accessible. There are only 6 long track ovals in the US, for example. Although long-track speed skating is still more accessible than Nordic jumping. There are only 3 real Nordic jump venues in the US - Lake Placid, Steamboat, and Park City. If you want to raise an Olympian, move to Utah or Lake Placid and put your kid in long-track speed skating or Nordic jumping.
