We all do this to some extent. The person in your example should've just declined to write a letter of recommendation, since she wasn't actually recommending the person.
But I don't see this in Virginia's comment. Does the other PP wants to clarify the subtext she reads into the statement?

Virginia was born in 1983. She married an Australian in the mid-2000s and moved to Australia then. She was 29 when Trump spent hours in Epstein’s apartment with a victim in 2012, and there’s no way Epstein was pimping out 29-year-olds.
It does not say what year he spent hours in the apartment. They were not friends in 2012, thats well documented.
Sure. That’s why they spent thanksgiving together in 2017.
