As an ASA parent, I can tell you that they are very strict about not allowing parents inside the practice facilities, and most definitely not in the locker/changing rooms. During meets at the same facility, all parents and coaches are required to use a separate bathroom that is monitored.

To add to my prior post, the NY Post article reported that the alleged offenses took place at the parent's home during play dates. So again I ask, what does that have to do with ASA?

Am thinking OP’s immediate concern was to alert other ASA parents, but agree overall that now a different thread title would be more helpful. Heck, considering how other this is happening, a separate forum would be something.

Thank you. This is a very well written and thorough article. This article does not seem to report misinformation unlike the initial local media coverage that misspelled his name and miscounted the number of victims.

Yes, thank you, Ms Uber. There are many more pedophiles among us who must be identified, charged and imprisoned.

I wish the Washington Post had a PSA at least once a week reminding people how to recognize the many red flags. All adults must stay vigilant for the sake of the children.

Victims can not be held responsible for not ‘telling mommy’ what happened. We don’t want to make children petrified of every single man. It’s OUR job to see that no pedophile has access to OUR children. No classroom, daycare, sport, play date, sleepover, class trip, camp, or place of worship is worth risking our child’s basic safety.

Every child who has suffered this trauma will forever struggle with the recovery process. Every caring parent of these children will forever live with the guilt of unintentionally leaving their child prey for these sadistic predators. These extraordinary evil actors groom not only the children, but their parents as well. Red flags are always there. Routine education is a must.

It sounds like the Australian government is getting to defend Thomas Mahony.

“A spokesperson for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the department is aware of an Australian citizen’s arrest and stands ‘ready to provide consular assistance to any Australian citizen,’ but did not answer questions about Mahony’s relationship with the Australian Embassy.”

And, unofficially, counting.

As of 5 August, the wife and kids were still in DC.
