How is he acting appropriately? If that was a guy off the street, in front of your kids’s school, you’d want him arrested.
Throw his a s s in jail. There is way to ask questions respectfully. The security team did their job. End of story
+500. In this time of violence & high emotions, an unknown guy starts yelling at the Sec of Homeland Security & moving towards her….
I was watching the scene live, & it seemed just like every other situation one sees these days in which some activist disrupts the proceedings with loud inappropriate speech.
He wasn't unknown. He had to have credentials to even be at that spot. Why are you so defensive?
“some activist” 🙄 He’s a sitting United States Senator. He showed ID to get in, clearly stated his name at the beginning, and he’s a colleague of Noem’s.
MAGA always has to lie and gaslight to justify their thuggery.
Clearly not a well known senator. Seems like his strategy was to become better known. Mission accomplished.
His 15 minutes of fame was interrupted by something that really happened.

Unruly agitator? Padilla isn't the one shoving people around throwing them to the ground.
Padilla isn't the one who has an army of goons randomly shooting people including harmless journalists and random bystanders.
Nope, that would be Noem's violent unruly agitating goons.
The LAPD works for Kristi Noem? I was unaware of that.
Do you think federal agents had any clue who the rando rushing the press conference was. That was a stupid grandstanding maneuver by whoever that politician is.
DP. I feel like you’re missing the point so because they just profiled him as some rando Hispanic man and treated him like this that’s better to you? Also it’s not his fault they’re ignorant.
He actually identified himself as a Senator before speaking. They're just stifling anything resembling free speech.
I could shout that I am a Senator.
I am not.
Should everyone believe me?

That's a really strange defense.
Indeed, it's the "don't you know who I am" defense. The FBI is trained to respond to and neutralize perceived threats. That's what they did here. He may have tried to identify himself as a U.S. Senator as be was being neutralized, but the entire situation could have been avoided if he had calmly and politely approached the FBI - with his Senate pin clearly visible - identified himself as a U.S. Senator, then determined how he could ask questions without being disruptive.
It would appear that his identity was verified after he was neutralized as a threat and removed from the vicinity of the protectee (Sec. Noem). He was then released.
I'm surprised that folks on this thread aren't aware that someone tried to assassinate President Trump twice - so potential threats to him and members of his administration are being taken VERY seriously. Some of you might claim that the Senator wasn't a threat, but this is no different than the Congressional Representatives showing up to ICE facilities and demanding to be let in to conduct oversight. Members of Congress can conduct their oversight through hearings and questioning witnesses. Sec. Noem has testified previously and will do so again.
You are trying FAR too hard. This is clearly a sore spot for you.

I don't, but they should have. That almost makes it worse.

That's a really strange defense.
Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, broke ranks with her party, calling what happened “very disturbing,” though she acknowledged she was unsure of what had led to the confrontation. “It looks like he is being manhandled and physically removed. It is hard to imagine a justification for that.”
Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, another Republican moderate, called the incident “horrible” and “shocking at every level.” She continued: “It’s not the America I know.”
