Because its an indicator and its hard data man y'all are dense, I think it's on purpose. Want entire border info?

https://data.bts.gov/Research-and-Statistics/Border-Crossings-by-Mode-Border-and-State/erjk-mneb

Feb 2024: 1.43 million personal vehicles entered the US across the Canada border
Feb 2025: 1.22 million

So that's a 15% drop year over year drop, I'll bet its 25-30% in March.

That's a cool tool. I'm getting:

Feb 2018: 1.67 million (personal vehicles entering the US at the US-Canadian border states)
Feb 2019: 1.53 million
Feb 2020: 1.7 million
Feb 2021: less than 200k
Feb 2022: ~441k
Feb 2023: 1.20 million
Feb 2024: 1.43 million
Feb 2025: 1.22 million

The July 2025 data might help tell a bigger story.

July 2018: 2.90 million (personal vehicles entering the US at the US-Canadian border states)
July 2019: 2.83 million
July 2020: ~228,000
July 2021: ~308,000
July 2022: 1.72 million
July 2023: 2.34 million
July 2024: 2.45 million
July 2025: tbd

It appears that crossings (via personal vehicle) still hadn't recovered to pre-pandemic levels even before the election/tariffs. They've also been trending down overall since before 2000.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2025/04/03/canada-travel-decline-united-states/

"McKenzie McMillan, a Vancouver-based adviser with the Travel Group, said his company would typically be busy this time of year arranging last-minute spring break and summer trips for Canadians to such favorite spots as San Diego, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Florida.

Instead, he said, “it’s zero.” The steep drop-off started gradually, with some clients in January saying they were thinking they might avoid the U.S. this year. “Since February, it’s been a complete collapse.”

McMillan said about 20 to 30 percent of trips that were already booked got canceled. Since then, he said, the company has seen about a 90 percent drop in new bookings for U.S. vacations compared with the previous year, as clients opt for other destinations."

Better make sure every person, business, etc that you encounter on your trip voted the way you did. Better yet, make sure to follow this practice in your every day life, if you're that commited to it.

The Canadians already have us covered on that front.

March crossings from British Columbia plated cars to Washington State down 42% versus 2024.

I was just in Florida for work. Hotels, restaurants and Disney are missing the Canadians, who for obvious reasons, have decided to go elsewhere.

There were plenty of Quebec and Ontario plates as always on I-95 during the last three weeks. I went up and down three times during the period.

Many of those are probably folks who came down for the entire winter back in November/December, and are headed back shortly. Also, and I know this is crazy, but your anecdotal experience of driving down a freeway a few times may not be indicative of larger trends, as evidenced by much larger data points like the 42% drop in Canadian cars crossing the border in BC in March 2025 compared to March 2024.

Where? In the Rockies, 100 interior probies just got fired. Some got offered their jobs back, but the paychecks haven’t started up again. It’s been more than a blip here

There is a federal presence here and individuals are feeling it (like us) but there is no overall impact or local concern. Definitely no economic concern. I don’t think anyone would blink at 100 people, though. Maybe the immediate metro area is too big? Some people barely know it’s going on and they definitely are the folks heading to Disney. Red agricultural state with a lot of manufacturing thrown in.

We are going to Hawaii and it doesn't seem like it, I lve been eyeing the upgrades to first class and they are getting filled up. I was hoping to get it for cheap or free upgrade.

How would you even know the difference between a Canadian and an American?

Our admin team, who plans large corporate travel events, works with hotels and conference centers- recently in Florida, we’re told that Canadian travel to Florida is down a lot.
