He's toxic. His supporters are -- of course -- tempted to act as if his support is a net gain. They aren't taking into account the full context. Sure, some (or even many, maybe?) of his supporters might go to a candidate RFK Jr supports, if he drops out.

But that support carries some pretty whiffy overtones and will push people away, too. And he is really fringe, and his baggage is really toxic.

The hardest part of all of this for the GOP is that their candidates are, well, weird. Off-putting. Having them in front of microphones and cameras isn't helping. They dig themselves deeper.

You can't threaten Democrats with getting ahead when all the Democrats really want is for your candidates to have MORE airtime, MORE exposure -- to do the work for them. The problem is with your candidates, not with whether they have enough exposure.
