so, you have two resident aliens who have a baby in the US, but that baby wouldn't get US citizenship?
So, if Melania had a baby while she was on her HlB visa with another visa holder, her baby shouldn't be considered a US citizen?
No. Why should the baby be a full citizen? Neither of his parents would be and they would most likely go home. I know you used Melania as a gotcha because you figured I was a Trump voter (I'm not, Harris 2024 baby!) who just hates brown immigrants but is cool with white ones (not true) but if Melania hadn't married a citizen, she likely would've gone back to Europe. Why tf should her kid get citizenship because she happened to get knocked up while she was here?

CIUDAD HIDALGO, México (AP) — Hundreds of migrants from around a dozen countries left from Mexico’s southern border on foot Sunday, as they attempt to make it to the U.S. border.
Some of the members of the group said they hoped to make it to the U.S. border before elections are held in November, because they fear that if Donald Trump wins, he will follow through on a promise to close the border to asylum-seekers.
“We are running the risk that permits (to cross the border) might be blocked,” said Miguel Salazar, a migrant from El Salvador. He feared that a new Trump administration might stop granting appointments to migrants through CBP One, an app used by asylum-seekers to enter the U.S. legally — by getting appointments at U.S. border posts, where they make their cases to officials.
The app only works once migrants reach Mexico City, or states in northern Mexico.

What is the CBP One™ mobile application?
On October 28, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched the FREE CBP One™ mobile application on the Apple App and Google Play stores.
CBP One™ is a mobile application that serves as a single portal to a variety of CBP services. Through a series of guided questions, the app directs each type of user to the appropriate services based on their needs.
As part of CBP’s comprehensive effort to improve the security of our nation’s borders while enhancing legitimate travel and trade, CBP One™ provides increased accessibility and transparency to some of CBP’s most utilized services.
So illegal immigrants fleeing starvation can download an app on their iphone and apply
for asylum.

Forgot to add. Interestingly enough my dislike of birthright citizenship didn't come about because of illegal immigration from South and Central America. It came about because the people who abuse it the most are Chinese and Indian parents who want their kids to be able to get into an American university more easily. And some Russian oligarchs.
Not even Russian oligarchs. A normal upper middle class family can afford the 30k fee most of Miami birth clinics charge for you to come here around 7th month, have the baby and go back with papers. I see it all the time on forums.

Don't you think if there was real political will to do it that it wouldn't have been tried by now?

If you just turn off the money, most of them will self-deport.
Pp is gonna be a billionaire when she gets the government contract to retrofit C-17s with slave ship bunks. She’s so creative.
