Biden hanging on is the news and obscures Trump’s flaws.

There's no "may be slowing down" to it. It's not about being a candidate. He clearly cannot do the job for four more years.

Then Harris will step in. That is the system we have. Ya'll need to learn civics. There is NO WAY we could or should switch out the candidate now.

You are either part of this Pro-democracy coalition or against it. It's a binary choice.

"Ya'll" need to learn grammar. You'll have plenty of time when Biden is crushed in a massive defeat, which is what Axelrod is warning right now.

And you know what? It'll be fine. Trump isn't a monster. The world didn't fall apart under his first administration, if anything, it was more peaceful. Just tune out TV and ignore Joy Reid playing the Prissy to the Democrats' Miss Scarlett for four years. Get ready for 2028. There will be a great slate of real candidates.

Except if Trump wins, it will be difficult to hold on to our republic. He faced no consequences for his attempted coup and will be emboldened if he’s re-elected. SCOTUS has given him carte blanche to do as he pleases. Trump will pillage the government and give our crown jewels to our enemies.

But I guess a few people will get very rich.

Good grief.

Trump is actually a monster and there won't be the guardrails in the White House around him this time around.

Pro-democracy?

Which coalition is that? The one that had primaries or the one that didn't?

Honestly, the chicken-little sky-is-falling routine from the extreme left is only making me less-likely to vote for him. At the end of the day, I'll probably vote for the party, but that's really a hard thing to stomach.

If the GOP wasn't nuts and had nominated Haley or DeSantis, this would be an epic landslide. Bc its really a tough pill to swallow: voting and not REALLY knowing who you're voting for

Terrible president - that’s why his poll numbers have been in the tank since before the debate. Borders wide open, more Covid deaths than Trump, inflation, foreign policy disasters from Afghanistan to Gaza to Ukraine, multiple transportation mismanagement, student loan payoffs that are unpopular and circumvent the court’s clear rulings etc etc.

Ok. My binary choice is yes I will vote for whoever is the Dem candidate. Just like in 2016 and 2020. And I will not be shocked when they lose. Just like in 2016.

It's a tragedy years in the making.

Probably some truth that the WH kept Biden away from even other senior Democrats or only allowed meetings at his peak times. It also pays not to ask questions or prod the matter because why trigger a crisis that could only help the GOP. Biden is also president and they have their praetorian guards eager to stay in power. What happened at the debate was the sudden realization that the various factions 1) could no longer pretend there wasn't a problem going on in the WH and 2) it couldn't be covered up and hidden from the American people any more.

The latter is probably the more important of the two and it's why the same media who reassured everyone any of these doubts and questions were due to right wing conspiracies and deepfakes mere days before the debates are now going all in trying to recover their legacy, although interestingly enough, no one is doing a mea culpa and admitting they were wrong. People definitely knew but didn't investigate or ask because that's the price of political cronyism and corruption. But the public by and large isn't buying it.

This.
