Those stats are gamed just like their admissions rate. Their admissions numbers are just not comparable to any other school because they are calculated differently.

This discussion is exhausting. I see both sides
1. Re the average 1500 SAT, this is a test optional school so we don’t know the actual average but I’m sure 1500 is not a typical score. (Same goes for all TO schools)
2. Many haters seem wedded to the old club of elites and unwilling to acknowledge that a new school can offer an appealing alternative for top students.
+1. They stomp their feet like small children every few weeks on this board. For shame, it seemed like this board was cleaning up to be a valuable resource, but these PPs add nothing but whining and protest, in response to not being admitted.
Few schools garner this kind of attention - so it must really be a special school. Good on them for bringing so much attention to the school.

Other PP, if yours is a genuine question, you should decide based on your child, and their academic wants, needs and FIT. Congratulations, PP - most people clearly are not admitted, so you are in a minority.
You will certainly not want to glean your information from an anonymous message board. If you are admitted, there are ways to obtain accurate information about the school - you will have to prove that you were admitted in order to do so. Hence, the multiple disingenuous posts like OP's.

What the heck is a "soft reject"? And how do you know how many there were? And are soft rejects included in the acceptance numbers on the CDS? Methinks Northeastern likes to play with the numbers to make themselves look like something they are not.
Those stats are nice. Seems like admissions doesn't have a very holistic method of admission though. For a school of its caliber, those numbers are very inflated. Seems like they only look at kids with high stats to admit. Is their admissions department run with AI?
NP, why the interest in NEU's admission process?
There are frequent posters on the subject who have been outed and identified to the powers that be. They like to gaslight and convolute their positions on the subject. It is best we ignore them. It started with them being rejected, then spiraled into an obsession. Suffice it to say they are definitely not gaining friends from their posts, no matter their weak excuses.

The Northeastern boosterism here has become a parody. Most people old enough to have high schoolers remember Northeastern as the cop school in Boston. It's where you went if you lived at home in Revere and wanted to study criminal justice. Sure, things change. It's not a commuter school anymore. And it's a perfectly fine college today known primarily for its internships. But the cheerleading here comparing Northeastern to Harvard and MIT has me convinced this is all satire.

This gleans a acceptance rate among W schools of 27% and a yield of 22%. Not very impressive numbers for a school that is claiming to be on the same level as the ivies lol.
This data is false and self selected. At current W school 75 applied and I know one maybe two max who got in
And that tells you it is the same as MIT or Harvard?
I find it funny that these schools that try so hard to protect their yield are not even good at it. UMD had a higher yield that this.
