Agree that Pascal is exhausting with being so unable to manage daily tasks like laundry and cooking. Major turnoff that he sucks at the basics but is also somehow proud of this. Have his past girlfriends found his multiple ineptitudes sexy? That's amazing.

Bringing out Wayne Newton's remains from a sarcophagus and forcing it to warble through some notes with what I can only assume was some kind of combination of ABC cattleprods/bedevilment and pharmacotherapeutic macro dosing of HGH was a low point. Was Dick Clark's body not available? Wayne Newton is too old for even the golden bachelorette's generation so it was an absolute WTF moment as transmitted even by Joan's tight, alarmed face.

Joan's wardrobe is great and she looks cute in everything.


I'm not convinced this isn't being massively exaggerated upon the advice/pressure of the producers.

No way they didn't know about Joan's husband. It comes up right away when you google her husband's name. They probably figure, rightly, that she wasn't culpable and it wasn't relevant to her moving on with her life. The Guy thing sucks. But doctors who spend that much time in the gym (seeking a meathead aesthetic) already have some red flags.

Not sure if this was discussed already but Guy's ex took a restraining order out against him, saying he threatened to shoot her, was on lots of Ambien and never sleeping. Then very recently they tried to seal the order but it was denied. And Joan's dh was awaiting sentencing for mail fraud and tax fraud before he passed away. I don't understand how producers don't vet, and how people go on shows with secrets that will come out.

Don't think so. I just fast forward through sections to get it down to an hour or less. Definitely not interesting enough for that long of a time commitment. But it's good to have on while folding laundry, cleaning, answering e-mail...

(2) largely fake because most don't actually work out... but a few couples do... so who knows!


I mean the show as a whole. I think most of these “reality” shows are shaped by the producers anyway. But the “prize” in this show seems particularly undesirable.

I agree about Joan's hair extensions. It's unnecessary and sets unrealistic expectations about how much hair a woman should have at that age - or any age. It look matted or tangled in a few shots, like I wanted to brush it out for her.

One of the guys commented about how much he loved her appearance including something like "the hair." It's not real dude!
