Only after it happens. Wait till the social security checks do not go out. Biden and the senate do not have to do jacksh#t. Just let the republicans do their thing.
Yes, the republicans in Congress usually succeed in #$&*ing things up for as long as I have been alive.
If anything happens, Biden as President will get the blame. So it's in the interest of the House to drive a default and let the impact rain down on Biden/Harris's heads.

Yup. That stunt McCarthy pulled trying to sell this to Wall Street made me laugh pretty hard. I would love to have been a fly on the wall that day.
Nope. Hedge funds be hedging. They know full well there is a TON of money to be made vulturing in on the turmoil of a crash, buying up distressed assets at pennies on the dollar. So too do CEOs and Board members who have tons of cash to spend in their personal accounts.
There are enough Elon Musks out there who see this as an opportunity, and they're not interested in anyone wasting it.
Are you implying the politicians who will let it happen are on the take from these guys?
You’d probably be right.

What recourse does the Congress have? It is constitutional to meet the faith and credit of the US on behalf of the Executive Branch.
The House has already passed the bill to do this. The ball is in the Senate's court along with Biden.
You think anyone is buying this???
You passed a bill that holds the full faith and credit of the IS hostage to the insane demands of your base. That’s all you did.
It does nothing of the sort. Suppose nothing passed. There is still revenue coming in. This money is more than enough to pay interest on the national debt.
There is no default in play, but both sides enjoy pretending it is. The only thing being held up is the ability of the executive to borrow MORE money.
There is no scenario, whether a deal is reached or not, that would produce a default on US debt.
The Secretary of the Treasury disagrees with you.
