There is no possible way to fry a six-year-old as an adult. If he were 16 I would be on board, but no.

The boy was hiding the gun in his pockets. Teachers asked if they could search his pockets and admin said no. Holy f-UNC $hit. Teacher is going to sue. I hope she does and that some real changes are made.

Thanks for sharing. This is crazy. Another student came to them crying saying the boy showed him a gun & threatened to shoot him, and they STILL didn’t search the boy, or send him home, or do anything???
Public schools in many areas have their hands tied by admin and school disyrict leaders.
Stop making up excuses. Superintendent Parker had his hands tied by NO ONE. He CHOOSE to ignore mounting evidence that the shooter should never have been allowed in that school without an armed police officer.
The school librarian has reported that virtually EVERY day, staff and students are “hit, bitten and beaten”. Yet Parker refuses to take appropriate action.
For what reason does the departing Mr. Parker deserve a severance package? He should be charged with gross negligence resulting in this (not shocking) shooting. Apparently the perpetrator had already made threats.
PP here. Truly, I'm not trying to make excuses for anyone. Just sharing how/why public schools in many areas have deteriorated since I began working in them years ago. Many admin and district leaders interpret the federal regs very tightly and ignore commonsense.
Astonishing how many of you are willing to risk your basic safety just to accommodate corrupted higher-ups. You should be revolting en mass when they refuse to remove perpetrators who are repeatedly violent and threaten bodily harm to school staff or students.

This is beyond disgraceful.

As I read the article, it seems the teachers did not have authority to search the boy’s body (like his pants pockets) without permission from the admin. Multiple teachers asked, admin refused every time. EVEN after another child said he had seen the gun and been threatened with it. No one also called the parents.
I have no hope for this world. Awful.
