Not a Sidwell parent, but my kids attend another $50k year school. Charging $50k a year means your school is full of rich parents. It does not mean your school is full of snobby parents. Most parents are very lovely.

My kids go to public but two of the nicest families I know send their kids to Sidwell.

How is it snobby to point out that comparing children of privilege to the homeless or border-crossing mothers and children is not Ok?

How is it non-snobby to be ableist, anti-financial aid kids etc? It’s not. If anyone is a snob without a cause, it’s the OPs of these anti-school threads

How is it snobby to point out that these ladies anti-community value sentiments clash, well, with the community values they signed on to (literally)

A dear friend of my family, the late George Willoughby, formerly of Central Philadelphia Meeting, called quaker schools "our outreach program to the rich." This remains sadly accurate.

I find it depressing myself, that my religion's primary impact upon society boils down to teaching a bunch of lobbyist and investment bankers' kids about silent meeting and the inner light within them. It's not like that lesson seems to be sinking in.

Seriously, fellow Quakers, remember how George Fox disrupted church services and refused to comply with English courts? Remember civil disobedience? How can you stand by and let our religion be reduced to this crap?

I do seriously wonder this... It's one reason I don't go to meeting.
