Based on comments it doesn’t seem like that is a joke either.
I’m not anti-mask. I still wore my inside these past few days. It would have made no difference to me if they didn’t lift the mandate this past Thursday.
Why are they reinstating the mask policy so quickly? Not even 48 hours after issuing it do they reinstate it. They don’t even reinstate it for right away but on Wednesday November 3. Why can’t they just reinstate it for today (10/31) since they broke the news on 10/30?
I find it hard to believe cases went up that quickly in the 48 hours since the indoor mask mandate ended that would necessitate reinstating the mandate but they are still waiting until 11/3 for it to go in effect.

What did these people do pre-pandemic? The flu kills a large number of people every year and it's contagious also.
The flu does not kill as many as covid has. Be real. And, you are right, maybe regardless of the pandemic everyone should mask indoors always.
Hasn't the vaccine brought the death rate down to numbers similar (or even lower) than seasonal flu? We will never get rid of this disease. We have to be able to live with it. We live with 50,000 flu deaths a year. Why not COVID?
We aren't getting rid of it as people are irresponsible and our government is hoarding vaccines vs. sharing them.

Vaccines are shown not to be enough given the high vaccination rate. Yes, we can do better.
Why are they not enough? Covid-related deaths are 0-2 per day in MoCo, never higher. Hospitals are not overwhelmed. No one under 18 has died of Covid in MoCo.
Numbers have gone up and its very clear masking helps. Just because a child hasn't died in MoCo, doesn't mean it cannot happen here. Many kids all over the world have died. We have just been fortunate.
0 children have died in MoCo when we didn't have the vaccine availble. Now we're 90%+ vaccination rate, and still no children have died.
More children have died in MoCo in the last year and a half from falling out of windows than Covid.
So, what happens when a child does die? Its only a matter of time. 700 kids have died in the US and many more world wide. You think the county has an invisible bubble that protects our kids? No, so we need to. No under 12's are vaccinated and when it happens no under 5's will be vaccinated. Why do you need a child to die in the county to take covid seriously? Hopefully it will be one of your kids dying and not the rest of ours.

This is absurd. Vote them all out.
Except Friedson and possibly Albornoz. Friedson is the only reasonable one on the council. Expect the mask mandate to be removed before it takes effect -- Friedson is working on this now. The County Council will convence as the Board of Health on Tuesday, and he'll propose it needs to be 7 days over the limit before the mask mandate comes back on. That seems more reasonable, since we had to wait for 7 days of below the limit for it to be removed.
They aren't going to reinstate it. They should have never removed it but they aren't going to fix their mistake.
They already did.

We're at 1,129 covid deaths/week as of this week: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/index.html
so that's about 59k deaths/year -- not too dissimilar from the flu.
We never required everyone to take measures to stop the flu. Heck, we don't even require the flu vaccine.

We are fortunate to have relatively good and quick access to medical care. I don’t think it’s just random luck that no kids have died in MoCo. There are some systemic reasons that unfortunately many other countries don’t have.
