Perhaps, but put yourself in Gabby’s parent’s shoes - perhaps they want the Laundries to feel 1/100 of the pain that they have endured since Sept, perhaps it is how they have learned to grieve each + every day, perhaps they hope to deter another situation like this ever occurring again.

How is a lawsuit against the Laundries going to deter anything? The Laundries lost a son too, and they have to grapple with him committing a terrible crime. It is enough.

why is it stupid? If they knew Gaby was dead sands refused to tell, then it’s warranted. If they didn’t know, then it will be dismissed. Send a message to other parents who try to cover up felonies committed by their kids, like the school shooter whose parents were arrested recently.Anonymous wrote:What a stupid lawsuit.

Except in very limited circumstances (e.g., a grand jury subpoena), you don't have to answer questions or provide information about a crime that a family member may have committed. You can't lie to law enforcement about it, but you are 100 percent within your rights not to speak with them or provide information.
There are criminal laws against harboring a fugitive and obstructing federal investigations. And there are plenty of civil laws their actions would fall under
+1
Most of us know it is not a crime, but they should still be brought through the process and not get away with it unscathed. They are clearly not parents of the year.
