Give examples of how it will be weaker for the students, please. Traditional options are required in all schools. The population will likely require advanced courses--that will drive the courses offered.

I think PP is trying to say that the people enamored with the magnet school idea are keeping some infrastructure in the building that limits its usefulness as a community high school. If you've ever been in there, the setup is much more like a college campus building than a typical high school.

Which math will your 9th grader be taking? Likely the math options will be strong considering the many kids matriculating from Carson.

He should go into Algebra II Honors. I'm assuming they will have that- slightly concerned whether they will have multivariable calc in 12th with a possible small class - but I imagine a lot of the kids opting in are doing so for the math/technical pathways and will also want it. I just would love to get confirmation of it because I do think this class will be much smaller than our base school (Chantilly) and I think there was only one class of it there with our last kid.
