I think I would have put my faith in that kid to create something with that low amount of time left.
Agreed. And they were coming out of a timeout - weird thing to draw up (unless just botched execution). passed around horn bunch of times and never even got close to a shot. would have thought they'd be looking for couple quick passes, then create/shot (w/time for backup/2nd shot if needed).

I think YT lucked out that they don't have to face Robo in the second round. Indy hasn't faced tough competition all year outside of Battlefield.
Again I keep hearing this. I have pointed out multiple times that Indy seems to have the hardest SOS based on Laxnumbers.
Can someone explain this to me? The numbers say they had a harder schedule and the posts say different.

Anonymous wrote:I mean they have a losing record and have only played southern teams. I think a new way of seeding states could/should happen. Teams like Oakton, Langley, Westfield are teams that I believe should be granted an opportunity over a team that basically now gives Robinson a first round bye. Deep Run moving to 5A has ruined the whole south and now it creates situations like this one. I think the 4 region winners should get an automatic bid into the tournament, than the last 4 are picked by some type of committee. I know, that will create a whole different discussion and have this forum going absolutely ballistic about how its rigged and such, but it will fix the bigger issue of a 4-8 team playing in June.

I don’t believe this at all. How could the best player in all of Virginia, staying in tippy toes at 5’7” not show up against an above average D?
There is now way he could ever get shut down!
He didn’t play up to his usual standard. Missed a few passes that he usually connects on. He also had a goal and four assists facing a shutoff the whole game.
He's a great player. YT actually had the most success early in the game when Madison was maybe overplaying him a bit, because he was great at finding open guys.

8-7 Madison.
Any score update?
That was the final
Not quite as close as it would appear tho Madison was up by 3 with 3 mins left.
Agree; Madison appeared to be in control with 4 mins left. But despite winning the draw and having an opportunity to run the time down, then they chose to shoot, and then double-fouled the Yorktown attacker to give the Patriots an easy 2-man up goal. After that, they proceeded to win the draw, and instead of stalling, shoot again, and give up a goal on the other end. Madison won the draw again (nice work by their LSM) and still didn't run an effective stall, giving Yorktown one last chance after a tripping foul with 22 seconds left. D held up a man down for the one goal win. I would imagine that they will want to clean up the end of game strategy for states.
How is this a “master class”? It sounds like very bad coaching!
Dude you can’t have higher than a 70 IQ😂
If the previous write up was accurate- and how Madison played out the end of the game- it was a total failure of coaching, like the last guy said.
Or, the players just ignored everything they should have been taught and coach failed in benching them.
Did the game play out as was posted?
We have multiple Einsteins online tonight. The masterclass was holding Yorktown to 7. Madison’s talent is good, but coaching takes them to the level they can shut down elite offenses again and again. But yes, let’s ignore that and focus on a couple of individual players mistakes! -Madison won a game where they were largely outgunned talent wise. That usually is a sign of good coaching.
