*late birth month

The late first month players are lucky enough to get an extra year of youth soccer.

They also have a big advantage in high school soccer, their freshman year, they just played an entire year of u16 club soccer, while most of their freshman peers have just played a year of u15.

The trade-off is that at times at the younger ages, sometimes these players are late developers.

The ones who benefit the most are late birthday ECNL players you do in fact get that extra year. In high school soccer usually they're far enough along to contribute to Varsity their freshman year right away.

Basically a trap player is born in the same birth year as the kids that are a grade older on a team (think Oct.-Dec. birthdays since cutoff for school, at least in VA, is Sept. 30). So those players are "trapped" and get to repeat their U19 season twice - once as a Junior playing with mostly seniors in HS, then as actual seniors playing with majority Juniors. I have two trap players in club soccer. and really wish they had never moved to the birth year rule and just stuck with grade levels.

Can one play U19 season twice? I guess the leagues don’t care about age at that point?

Age is why they can play twice. It's U19, not U18.

So by "trapped" they mean the kids born Oct.-Dec get to repeat their U19 season twice in HS right? not club/academy?
Once as a Junior playing with mostly seniors in HS, then as actual seniors playing with majority Juniors.
Also, how is a bad thing to be "trapped" is sounds like it is, just trying to understand the reasons.

Your son will almost undoubtedly be better off elsewhere.

You can email Coach Kevin James for the update. I believe they already sent all 2010 offers

I know some kids received rejection emails and others got offers, but our son still hasn’t received anything. It’s been more than two weeks. I understand not being able to meet the original two day turnaround, but putting 14 yo kids through this just seems cruel.

I’ve emailed both…no response from either. And both email addresses are correct.

Sometimes things get sent to old email addresses so I’d email whoever ran registration and check and see.

have you emailed the coach or TD? I thought most have been given offers or rejections. If you have neither you need to reach out.
