You mean they lied about letting the voters in each state decide. An abortion ban would be about as effective as Prohibition. With birth control, no matter what the religious fanatics want, you would have national strikes.

How’s the GOP going to rig this in their favor?

WTF

If these people had any sense, they would take the L and say "we don't like, but the people have spoken." Then they could go on and people would keep voting for republicans because abortion would be settled. But they won't do that. They are going to keep this issue front and center and make people vote against them if they care about abortion rights. And many many people care about them a lot.

Think they will force Donald Trump to go all in on abortion in 2024? Or will they give him a free pass and let him pretend that he’s totally cool with it?

Pretend? He is totally cool with it. He does not care about reporductive rights beyond how he could manipulate his position to get votes.

It makes no difference at this point what he says about abortion. He overturned roe and he is done for.

The maga base down not care at all about what he says or does. They are all in. If he reverses his cynical position on abortion now to be pro choice, he will continue to keep his maga nuts but that is all he gets

Even the ones who don't care about abortion understand a referendum, power and legislation.

Keep it up you lunatic forced birthers. You’re simply proving the soundbyte that Republicans cannot be trusted on Abortion. And so the best way to protect ourselves is voting them out.

And then starting the campaign for an amendment to the U.S. constitution now that people realize what’s at stake.

It’s a *constitutional* issue?? The illegitimate supreme court said in its overturning of Roe that it is NOT a constitutional issue and that it should be determined by the legislative process. Well, the legislative branch in Ohio put a vote to the people to ADD it to the state constitution they way the Supreme Court said it should, but NOW it’s a “constitutional” issue. These crackpots don’t care about the law or people - they just want to control women. There is literally no other explanation.

Respectfully, duh.

Women aren’t people in the GOP. They literally do not think women matter. Prove me wrong, forced birthers, but I’m right.

Bless their little authoritarian hearts. They don't love the constitution. They love control.

Exactly. The more the Evangelicals push on this, the more even normal conservatives will run away.
