GA hats grasping at anything to justify their happiness

Literally every kid on their top teams were getting offers when they were playing GA. The ECNL really did nothing for them. They were already there, thanks to the GA/DA.
Why did they leave GA?
So they don’t have to develop players anymore. GA forces their clubs to develop and more importantly, do not allow them to poach or recruit.
Go and take a look at the rosters on Indy Premier United, one of the GAs more successful clubs currently.
About 1/2 the roster is from Indianapolis area where they are… the rest is from other states or 4+ hour drives with players carded to other clubs too.
But that’s developing not poaching for sure.

Yes, they can charge more and more kids will come to wear the badge...more players, more money. with MI having an entire ECNL-RL conference made for them, it also pulls up players that were maybe on their local USYS teams that didn't want to travel and now they will pay more to be on the higher teams since the travel will not be as bad as if they did it last year and had to leave the state for E64 Midwest. So kids that maybe played in a lower level for Nationals and not on their USYS regional leagues, will now go up to one of their ECNL-RL teams - will get charged more and then will not have to travel as much now because ECNL gave MI a league.
Then they are selling just the brand to charge more but it remains to be seen if they get more kids. Those clubs they got for RL are solid USYS clubs, BUT the ones with E64 teams largely struggled at the higher level. At the same time, a few of the top E64 in the midwest left for MLSN/GA, instead. Seems like USYS is the one that has lost out the most here. Match on, I guess.
Then there's the Wolves starting a girls program in the Hawks backyard. Their top team, beyond local levels, to start with be NAL, tho. Still, it underscores how the Hawks will now face the most competition they've ever had, including the Nationals in ECNL, Jags and other new GA teams in Michigan.
That all said, the funny thing is all these changing/new leagues, at the end of the day, it's still largely the same clubs. That's why it's too bad they can't play in one top league, for one big title, like they do with the u-littles.

Anonymous wrote:Look at what’s playing out over at Nationals SC. They didn’t leave for the competition at ECNL.
First year, they got 1 ECNL and 1 ECRL team.
Go look at how many of their locations are now playing for ECRL.
2 GA teams < 1 ECNL and 4-5 ECRL teams.
It was strictly a money move.
