1. Landon (14-2): The Bears are winners of 12 straight and have locked up the #1 seed heading into the IAC playoffs. This Landon team is very deep and can beat you offensively with a lot of different weapons. On top of that, they have a very underrated goalie and are good at the face-off circle.
2. Gonzaga (11-5): Despite the setback to Landon last week, the Eagles have the horses and offensive talent to remain as the favorite to take home the WCAC title in May.
3. Bullis (12-3): Bulldogs have enough talent on their roster to compete with anyone on this list, depth will be an issue as the weather heats up. Showdown on Tuesday with rival Georgetown Prep to lock in the #2 seed for the IAC playoffs and a first-round bye.
4. GP (9-4): The Lil Hoyas are destined to seek revenge against rival Landon. Will Bullis stand in their way? Hoyas have a talented 2024 class.
5. SJC (8-4): The Cadets and the Purple Eagles are set to clash in a major WCAC showdown this Friday. The winner will lock up the #1 seed for the WCAC playoffs. Don't sleep on DeMatha on Tuesday though...
6. GC (13-3): Dane Smith has turned the Falcons program around in two years. Great win over PVI last week. Can the Falcons play spoiler in the WCAC playoffs next week?
7. DeMatha (7-6): Despite their record, and mid-season drama, the Stags have weathered the storm. DeMatha has the firepower on offense however their mental mistakes and clearing woes need to be cleaned up if they want to make a serious post-season run. The Cadets are on-deck.
8. PVI (11-4): After a hot start under new head coach, the Panthers have dropped two straight. Can the Panthers act as a spolier in the WCAC playoffs?
9. Episcopal (7-7): Another team, despite their record appears to be improving each passing week. Episcopal is young this year. Expect HC Conklin will have them ready to make another run in the VISAA playoffs.
10. Saint James School (9-4): The small boarding school from Hagerstown Maryland is the favorite to win the MAC.
A few observations
The bottom half of the IAC is very down this year. IAC playoffs is a 3 horse race between Landon, Bullis and Prep with the Bears as the clear favorite.
The WCAC playoffs will be fun to follow next week. With the emergence of Good Counsel and now DeMatha who is playing like a different team than in March, don't be surprised if there is an upset or two in the quarterfinal round. Gonzaga remains the favorite with their deep senior class. I predict the Eagles will have a statement win on Friday vs the Cadets.
Bring on the 80-degree temps this week!

Resigned or fired, but why?
He was forced out as head coach but was allowed to stay as a goalie coach. He said no, so they said they both decided to part ways. However, he is now blaming the players like he blamed them for everything. He should have never been hired since he had no coaching experience. Main thing, he was toxic and wanted to be head coach in name only. He was supposed to be the OC but knew nothing about being an OC. He belittled players constantly. He never communicated with parents or players. For example, cancelling a Saturday practice and not telling his players and his coaches. He didn’t plan for the spring break trip and game. I could go on and on. Basically parents and players had enough of him. It was bad with a lot of players thinking about transferring from the program. Since his departure the players are inspired and playing harder. You can see it since the LaSalle game. Mitchell was welcomed back with open arms and this is from some parents who had bad experiences with him.

If by “in the mix” you mean middle of the pack, then maybe. But STA will never have the depth of quality that the more established lacrosse powers have.
They will have a shot. They have a top fogo, the best 27 goalie in the region and several other top kids mixed in.
STA had "a shot" with the 2023 class. They were the best class STA has had in a very long time and they came in last in the IAC. They had good players in many key positions and it still didn't matter. STA lacks overall depth, strength, athleticism, and skill. The IAC is down big this year and still STA is second to last in the league, having lost to everyone except SSSA, who they play next week. To compete in the IAC STA will have to do more than just have a "bunch" of good 26 and 27s. The top teams all have good 26 and 27s.
DMV talent is way down this season. Best player in the DMV is injured, FO is down, last season the DMV had the best goalie class ever, D is down and the teams are just not ranking with the national programs. Lets hope 26 and 27 classes track better
Agree that DMV lacrosse is down this year but Landon is clearly not and in a league of their own this spring.
IL lacrosse has them ranked at #8 in the country for a reason.
