Nope. This is only a bryc issue. No other club in the DMV or in the US has annoying parents that yell at their kids during games.
You're hopeless.
Sure, there are no parents in the DMV area who have any parents who yell at their kids while they are on the field...uh, huh....do you think we've never left the house? Moved to BRYC this year and can objectively say that the parents are well behaved for the most part. A couple could improve, but they're no different than any other team.

Do they? This has not been my experience. My experience has been that
- rec coaches sometimes recruit, although this is rare
- travel teams welcome kids/parents who initiate contact, and will actively follow up once the family has initiated contact with them
- travel teams do not initiate unsolicited contact.
Do others have different experiences? Clubs approaching you out of the blue to try to persuade you to move your kid?
Travel coaches scout rec/all stars from time to time.
Travel coaches coach the all star teams at Loudoun for this very purpose. Top couple kids always get extra attention to get them in the pipeline. Not a bad strategy.
How far is recruiting allowed to go? Should an ECNL coach be allowed to have verbal contact with parents and/or players before tryouts?

Agreed! We are new to BRYC as well on the boys side and other than a couple annoying moms yelling ALL THE TIME with their high pitched screeching, it seems like parents are very encouraging and comments are quiet.

So just like every club in the area.
Not true at all. And often it is 'team dependent', not 'club dependent'.
My youngest son switched teams for the first time in 4 years and the parents are wonderful. Virtually silent, even in tournament Finals. IF anything is ever said, it is encouragement or well-done.
Which makes PP's statement still true: Every club has teams with annoying parents. The PP that is throwing shade on BRYC is just an ar se.
