No, the minute he signs the combined bill he loses his leverage. The $2,000 has to happen while he still has the leverage and able to take advantage of the fact that the spending bill and the relief bill are combined this time (which almost never happens) due to ineptitude and immorality of our politicians in both parties.

Now you’re getting it. IT IS. The COVID Bill and the annual appropriations bill were presented as a package deal. Foreign aid money is in the annual appropriations piece. It ISNOT in the COVID piece. People keep saying this. Why aren’t you getting it?

You do what every other normal, wealthy country has done. Pay people to stay home, provide paid sick leave to front line workers so healthcare, emergency services and supply lines, particularly pharmacies and grocery stores, remain intact.
This really isn't hard.

I don’t qualify for assistance but $600 doesn’t cover much. I think that’s maybe one or two months of rent in an average town? Or for food for a couple of months. I don’t understand what Congress expects Americans to do? We cant afford to have businesses close but we also can’t have our hospitals overrun, which is happening. This is a terrible time.

Most of the livid people are dumb-asses who think the appropriations were added to the covid bill instead of the reverse. They are outraged that regular federal programs are funded in the bill for that purpose.
They're not dumb, they're working and middle class Americans. My 3 children attend highly selective colleges, even their UMC and affluent friends are sharing memes blasting the $600.
