But this is experience that will be able to hit the ground running and restore order to the government and pick up the pieces that the current administration shredded and put them back together again. This is the reason that Biden was the overwhelming landslide winner of both the primary and the election, because the majority wanted this.

He seems to be picking a mix. I suspect with a pick like Kerry, part of the goal is to not have the person doing the negotiating be the story. Except in the addled minds of the Swift Boaters, Kerry was barely even the story when he was running for President.

Why would he branch out when he's picking candidates with extraordinary experience that he can trust because he's worked with them over decades?

We don't need any hand-holding in this administration. The U.S. is teetering on the edge of the cliff and we need to right the ship from Day Zero.

Yes this. He's picking people highly experienced people who already know the agencies they will lead and will get their security clearances reactivated quickly. No CEOs, cranks, or derelict billionaires this time.

Longer than that. He worked on the Paris Accords and has been involved in climate advocacy since leaving the Obama Administration. He's a great pick for any political role in climate, especially since Biden's first action will be to rejoin the Paris Accords.
